Sean and I sat down together and did a facelift to our original map. I feel it much more clear, and focused more on an online community.

The alterations mainly involved giving the historical culture a more encompassing feel. Everything you do is effected by past events and we are products of them. Ghosts are also products of past events. This is the reasoning behind the way the circle shapes are formed from the paths that flow from the historical consciousness. Also, a blending of category is explained with new hybrid categories that involve both originals. The center is the actual individual. They are a product of all of this happening around them

Pin-Up

This is a photo that I actually own and was passed down in the family... SUPER cool :)

There is just something about the artwork of the pinup girl that amazes me. I really wish I could have lived back in time where showing a leg was considered scandalous. The way women were used to promote ideas and show power really gets my mind rolling and wanting to learn more. Pin up girls were placed on calendars, hung in boys lockers, were inspiration to the men fighting in the war, and even graced the noses of planes that fought in battle. To me the artwork is such a powerful statement of America's history. This is why I have decided to brand an educational exhibit to show the history and importance of the pin-up girl. Hopefully I will be able to learn more and possibly let someone else share my deep interest in this subject.

Work from my internship at ODT

This company creates greeting cards that can be customized and then we print and send them to you :) They also do a lot of cards for School Alumni like KU, MU, ect. It is a great internship because I get a lot of freedom in designing my cards. I just have certain font restrictions. It is awesome!!

This is my final website for my collection. I revised my design and tried to add more fun and character to my site. I really liked how it ended up and I hope to continue working on it to get all the pages designed. :):)

Here is what I have been working on it took me awhile to get started and figure out the rules for this. I decided to use only one shape, which is very hard to do. I plan on continuing to work on this because I think it is an interesting approach to this.

Here are some final artifacts to wrap up our conference theme. I really enjoyed this project because it really taught me how to make a system work as a whole. Something that I learned is to take the elements or identity and spread it across artifacts can be challenging. The reason it is challenging is because you have to make the pieces look interesting and not repetitive. When we had our crit on monday I realized maybe we needed to alter some patterning so there was more variety and scale. We tried the best of our ability to do this before Friday's crit but this is something I see myself finessing over the summer for my portfolio. I am also really glad that I decided to do this project with a group because it was really nice to see our ideas come together. Also, in the real world of design you are always working with other people and I think sometimes in school we do not do it enough. I feel it really helped me grow in working as a team. Overall, I am satisfied with the way our items turned out and I could not have asked for a better group:)
